Algood Police Department Receives Pharmaceutical Drug Box

We were given an unwanted pharmaceutical take back box (from Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation) today. This box was applied for recently and was just delivered. What does this mean for our residents?

We accept any unwanted medicines from private citizens. You have access to the bin at all times, however we ask you make drop-offs during city hall hours.

Items include: …
Prescriptions, OTC meds, pet meds, liquid meds (in leak proof containers), and inhalers

We cannot accept:
Sharps/needles, blood sugar equipment, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infectious waste, or personal care items.

Appropriate disposal of unused or unwanted meds is one effective way to decrease the volume of PPCP’s entering our community waterways.
