Power Athletics Compete for 2015 Cheersport National Championships

Power Athletics took two teams to Atlanta, Georgia for the 2015 Cheersport National Championships.  This competition hosted close to 1200 teams this year.  The two teams Power Athletics brought was their Junior Level 2 called the Lady Cats and Senior Co-Ed Level 3 called the Thunder Cats.   Both of these teams have individuals representing Putnam, Dekalb, White, Cumberland and Overton Counties. These two teams are comprised of 33 individuals.

The Thundercats finished 3rd overall in the division of 9 total teams. Lady Cats finished 1st overall in their division of 16 total teams and brought home a National Championship for Power Athletics. This is the second they have brought home this season.
On Friday night Cheersport holds and event for the Spirit of Hope. This night raises money for charities of the teams involved. At this event Cheersport incorporates an event called “So you think you can tumble & stunt”.   Power Athletics had three stunt groups qualify as finalists and they performed Friday night. Out of these three groups Jordan Todd and Anthony Dicicco brought home the Open Co-Ed Stunt division championship for “So You Think You Can Stunt”.  Each finalist received a free t-shirt, shoes, magazine subscription to Inside Cheerleading Magazine and certificate congratulating them for being chosen as a finalist via video entry. Winners brought home a banner and will have a spotlight in the Inside Cheerleading Magazine.
Monday Night at 8:00 pm eastern Cheersport held its first ever bid announcement live. From this they offered at large and paid bids to The Summit and The Cheerleading Worlds. In order to receive a bid to these events you must score over a 95% on your score sheets from your event. Cheersport offered 15 at large bids and 5 paid bids to The Summit. The Junior Level 2 team called the Lady Cats from Power Athletics won an at large bid to The Summit.
The weekend was a very successful weekend for Power Athletics with top three finishes in all events.
