Literacy Night at Baxter Elementary School

Baxter Elementary recently had Literacy Night with many activities at the school.  Each grade level had games and story tellers. The book fair was conducted in the library, and the science fair was held in the cafeteria, where the winners were recognized and the projects were displayed.
 Special guest this year was Rachel Burchett from Bruchett Taxadermy. The ​students loved seeing the different animal furs and talking with Rachel.  Lauren Imes of Tennessee Credit Union and provided a guessing game and information to the students. Amanda Yoder of Tennessee Tudor and the Putnam County Library also had a booth for the students and parents with valuable information about the program.
In the featured picture Dr. Michael Torrence of Vol State shared a story with Anthony Cooper and his little sister.​

Second grade teacher Ms. Sandy Summers is dressed as The Cat in the Hat and enjoying a game with​ Ella Anderson and Lindsea Grissom.

Kindergarten teachers Ms. Jenny Quinn and Mrs. Cindy Brown are dressed as Boom Chicka Boom and playing games with students Elizabeth Evans  and Liberty Hilton.
