Friday, September 11 at 12:45 Government Officials speak to Algood Elementary first grade class. Short discussion on safety and rules from Chief of Police, Officers, EMS, and others.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Tennessee Central Heritage Rail Trail is set for Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. on property adjacent to Genco Stamping and Manufacturing Co. along Shag Rag Road and Chocolate Drive in Cookeville.

Over 600 guests are expected at the 27th Upper Cumberland Quilt Festival will be held September 17-19, 2015 in Algood, Tn.  Almost 1,000 quilts and needlework art pieces will be displayed for the festival.

Saturday, September 26 National Drug Take Back Day partnering with Drug Enforcement Administration.
Several boxes readily available to the public to drop off unwanted or expired meds at Algood City Hall.

Wednesday, September 30 Algood Fire Department members to receive two hours of domestic violence training.
