Former Putnam County Educator Living His Dream

COOKEVILLE, T.N. — Skip Overstreet, a former Putnam County educator, is living his dream.  Overstreet is currently writing a book about his many years in education.

Overstreet grew up in the small town of Monterey.  He became a teacher and coach in 1982 and then moved on to become an assistant principal and principal.

Overstreet worked at Monterey High School, Cookeville Junior High School and Avery Trace Middle School.  He later became the assistant principal and athletic director at Cookeville High School.  His final eight years in education was spent as the principal of Lenoir City Elementary School.
