Prescott South Elementary teachers and students celebrated National College Colors Day September 2. Students have studied the difference between jobs and careers while learning about various career options and the education necessary to obtain the skills for their career of choice.
To celebrate, students were greeted by the 100 year old Awesome Eagle and the young Awesome Eagle along with TTU football players as they arrived at school. Teachers participated in a window decorating contest promoting the college(s) of their choice for their students. During lunch TTU dance team members and cheerleaders mingled with students to help them feel important. During Encore classes students played tailgating games for the real “college” experience. At Prescott Elementary, the goal is to inform students about post secondary options, and college colors day is a great way to celebrate learning at all levels.
