Rotary Club of Cookeville – Sunset St Jude Donation

Susie Cantrell, President of the Rotary Club of Cookeville – Sunset, presents Casey Taylor Johns and Andrew Johns with a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This donation impacts children worldwide as St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.  The Sunset Club is honored to support our Team 834 who finished out at 850 miles on event day.

Casey and Andrew decided to make this a physical personal journey as well and committed to relay cycling 834 miles over 30 days (the Ride for a Reason Benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Life Time Foundation.)  What is 834 miles? The distance from St. Jude in Memphis to Life Time Fitness HQ in Chanhassen, MN.

Casey has worked at St. Jude for almost 4 years and can give a first hand account of how truly remarkable St. Jude is! They raised funds through this event to support St. Jude’s lifesaving mission of finding cures for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
