Homeless Man Arrested For Vandalism

COOKEVILLE, T.N., — A homeless man was arrested for inflicting damage to an apartment complex after trying to see his ex-girlfriend.

Austin Morris, 22, was arrested on three accounts including vandalism at apartments located on Bouton Bend Rd. According to the report, Morris went to the apartment of his ex-girlfriend, who had placed an order of protection against Morris on Jan, 4 of this year. The victim was in the process of moving from her previous apartment to another apartment located in the same complex because Morris had broken into the previous apartment before.

Allegedly, as the victim opened the door she witnessed Morris heading down the stairs. When officers arrived they noticed that the door to the apartment had been kicked in. The total cost of damage for the door was valued at less than $1,000.

Morris was charged with Aggravated Criminal Trespassing, Vandalism and Violation Order of Protection. His total bond was set at $3,750.
