Two Alleged Fugitives From Justice Found In Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, T.N., — The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and the Cookeville Police Department apprehended two alleged fugitives from justice from the states of Missouri and Alabama respectively.

On Feb. 19, Brandy Carter, 34, of Cookeville was arrested on the allegedly count of being a fugitive of justice. Carter is allegedly wanted by the city of Scottsboro, Alabama for theft of property. According to the report, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted by an Investigator from Scottsboro Police Department. Carter is to be held with no bond until extradition.

On Feb. 25, Ernest Smith Jr. was apprehended by the Cookeville Police Department. According to the report, Smith is wanted by the Newton County Sheriff in the state of Missouri in reference to the alleged charge of defrauding secured creditors. Smith is also being held without bond.
