City of Crossville Police Department ANNOUNCES NEW SRO

CROSSVILLE, TN.- The Crossville Police Department announces the newest member of our School Resource Officer team. Patrol Officer Scott VanRuden has been selected to fill the position, newly created by the Crossville City Council, which will assign an SRO to the Phoenix School. The addition brings the total number of School Recourse Officers, assigned to schools within the City of Crossville, to four.

Patrol Officer VanRuden has been employed by the Crossville Police Department since 2012 and, in addition to attending several advanced training classes, has received the approved POST training required to serve as a school resource officer.

“We now have a full-time, certified police officer in each of the schools in the city.” Said Crossville Police Chief David Beaty. “This enhances our level of security for all students, staff and faculty members.”

Congratulations Patrol Officer Scott VanRuden. You have the thanks and appreciation of your department, your community and our children. Take good care of them all.
