TDEC To Present Food Waste Grant At Putnam County Schools

COOKEVILLE – On Tuesday, March 27, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Commissioner Bob Martineau will present a $150,072 grant check to Putnam County for equipment to support a countywide composting effort at schools, nursing homes, restaurants and homes.

Specifically the grant will support the purchase of a bobcat; truck with lift; concrete pad; 500, 64-gallon containers; 300 food waste collection containers; and 800 units of residential composting equipment.
