The UHS FCCLA program made a goal this year to help the library at Baxter Primary. Student leaders formed a plan to get books for BPS. The first step was to get fellow students and UHS parents to donate new and used books to give to BPS. Another idea was to raise money to donate to the library to buy needed supplies. The students sold sweet tea for a fund raiser.
This idea turned into a successful drive for both books and monetary donations. FCCLA sponsor and UHS teacher Bridgett Looney guided the project. UHS students Molly Daniel and Emily Flatt put forth a great effort by organizing and motivating their fellow FCCLA members. On Friday April 13th several hundred books and a check for $1000 dollars was presented to Principal Wyatt and Librarian Sandy Windrow to assist their vision of increasing student opportunities in their library.
