The supply of O negative and A negative blood at Blood Assurance is low due to weekend traumas and we are reaching out to you in hopes that you will be able to encourage members of your community and organizations to donate blood. To most effectively serve our local hospitals, we need to have a four to five-day supply of O negative and A negative and are currently not at that level. We need to be prepared in case more traumas come in and need help boosting our supply. We are encouraging all people with O negative and A negative to please give at this time. To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 18 years old (16 and 17 years old with parental
consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids — avoiding caffeine — and eat a meal that is rich in iron prior to donating. The Cookeville Blood Assurance Center is located at 155 W. Broad Street Cookeville, TN (Across from the train depot) Open Monday thru Friday 8:30 to 500pm.
