Man Charged With Aggravated Sexual Battery Of An Eight-Year-Old

COOKEVILLE, T.N., — Officials say a Cookeville man was attempting to sexually assault a juvenile.

According to reports, on April 28,  Bryan Triplett, 22, was found behind his apartment complex on Cooke Street, attempting to hold down an eight-year old girl.

Allegedly, the victim’s sister heard her scream and ran behind the apartment complex to find Triplett attempting to hold the victim down. Reports state that Triplett’s pants were partially off and that his genitals were touching the victim’s body. As the victim’s sister watched, Triplett was allegedly attempting to remove the victim’s shorts.

The victim’s sister, according to the reports, threw a rock and hit Triplett on the head causing the assault to stop.

Triplett is being held on a $150,000 bond for Aggravated Sexual Battery.
