PUTNAM COUNTY, TN – June 12, 2018, The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire and fatality at an apartment complex on Benton Young Road. The call for emergency service came into dispatch at approximately 1:00 PM.
When firefighters from the Putnam County Fire Department responded, they found an unresponsive 57-year-old man inside an apartment while they were extinguishing the fire. He was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the man’s body was sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
