Man Calls False 911 Call Saying Suspects In His House Were Trying To Kill Him

PUTNAM COUNTY, T.N., — Emergency services received a call from an open line on June 17th and when a caller finally spoke, it was to say that people were in his home attempting to kill him.

According to the reports, deputies responded to a 911 call at a home on Sand Springs Church Road. The call stated that an undetermined number of people were trying to kill the caller. A Putnam County Sheriff Deputy and four other officers arrived on scene and proceeded to force their way into the residence with their guns drawn.

Allegedly, four people were found inside but there was no evidence of a crime. It was determined that Justin Eldridge, 33, of Cookeville, was the caller. According to a warrant, Eldridge claimed that his enemy “Slagle” was trying to set him up. The other residents claimed that a “Slagle” was not at the residence to their knowledge.

Eldridge is being charged with False Reports and his total bond is set at $4,000.
