Two Arrested For String of Car Burglaries

COOKEVILLE, T.N. — A man and woman from Texas were caught with stolen items from vehicles across town.

On July 9, Cookeville Police stopped a vehicle that was, according to the warrant, suspected to be involved in a string of burglaries.

Allegedly, four vehicle burglaries took place in the city of Cookeville at various locations such as Planet Fitness, Belk and Red Lobster. A few items taken from the vehicles were a Coach handbag and a debit/credit card.

Carla Norris, 41, and Gaylon Davis, 54, both of Beaumont, Texas, were in the vehicle when it was stopped. According to the reports, Norris admitted to the officer that she drove Davis to the mentioned places and witnessed Davis burglarizing the vehicles. Norris allegedly also admitted to using a credit/debit card at a local gas station that was stolen from a vehicle at Red Lobster. Norris also allegedly admitted that Norris had thrown out a handbag at a local CVS pharmacy.

According to the warrants, Norris is wanted in Florida for a Violation of Probation and Davis is wanted in Texas for Violation of Probation.

Davis is being charged with Felony Fugitive of Justice and Burglary and his total bond is set at $50,000. Norris is charged with Burglary and her total bond is set at $50,000.

All parties are innocent until proven guilty.
