Springfield, MO Homicide Suspect Captured In Cookeville

PUTNAM COUNTY, TN – On Wednesday, September 23rd, in a cooperative effort with the US Marshals Service, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department located and took into custody Gabriella Shields, 27, a felony fugitive wanted on charges of criminal homicide out of Springfield, Missouri.

On the morning of September 23rd, Deputy Sgt. Josh Reams, a member of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, received a lead from the US Marshals Service that Gabriella Shields was wanted out of Springfield, MO, for criminal homicide. She was believed to be in the area staying at the Knights Inn in Cookeville.

Lt. Patrick Storie and Sgt. Josh Reams set up surveillance. Once visual contact was achieved, US Marshals Service members, Sheriff Eddie Farris, and members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team commanded by Sgt. Brandon Masters surrounded the hotel and took the subject into custody without incident.

Shields was booked into Putnam County Jail on a Fugitive From Justice Warrant (Murder 1st Degree) and is being held without bond awaiting extradition by the Christian County Department of Corrections.
