Murfreesboro Man Threatens To “Blow Up” Waffle House

COOKEVILLE, T.N., — Patrons at a local Waffle House became afraid for their lives when another patron became erratic.

Nicholas Carroll, 23, was arrested for an alleged attempt of terrorism that made many patrons feel threatened. According to reports, Saturday May 19, Cookeville Police were dispatched to the Waffle House on S.Jefferson Avenue in the early hours of the morning.

Allegedly, Carroll was inside the restaurant and had become upset and was throwing dishes. According to reports, Carroll also stated more than once that he could blow up the place whenever he wanted, just with the push of a button. Reports also state that Carroll was reaching into his pocket.

A warrant states that Carroll went outside and pinned a woman against a car. Some other patrons were allegedly able to restrain Carroll until police arrived. As Carroll was being detained by police officials, he began kicking and trying to physically pull away.

Carroll is charged with Resisting Arrest and Attempt to Commit an Act of Terrorism. His total bond is set at $101,000.
