Woman Arrested For Driving Stolen Vehicle

PUTNAM COUNTY, T.N., — Police say they recovered a stolen vehicle while an officer was responding to another call.

According to reports, a Cookeville Police Officer responded to the Jere Whitson area on June 3rd for a possible drug activity call when he spotted a red Chrysler in the area. The officer says two people were sitting in the car when he approached the vehicle. As the officer checked the numbers for the vehicle, it came back as stolen.

The driver, Martha Bullock, 25, of Bloomington, Tennessee allegedly admitted to taking the vehicle the previous day. Allegedly, after a search, Bullock was also found to be in possession of 2 Klonopin pills, a pill used to treat seizures, panic disorders and anxiety.

Bullock was charged with Theft of Property and Simple Possession and her total bond is set at $2,500.
