Upper Cumberland Race for the Cure will be held Saturday, September 26th. Activities begin at 11:00 am, the One Mile Walk/Run is at 1:00 pm and the 5k starts at 2:00. This year the event will have tailgating, Taste of Pink contest, Kids for the Cure, Survivor Activities, live music on site and along the Race route and food vendors.
The Race is the largest fundraiser and provides the majority of the grant money for the organization. Since 2008, Upper Cumberland Race For The Cure has given over $860,000 to Upper Cumberland non-profits to provide free mammograms, diagnostic services, survivor support and educational resources. 75 cents of every dollar raised in the Upper Cumberland stays here to fund the grants program, the remaining 25 cents funds national research grants.
