Collecting Cookeville – Carlen Dedication

Celebrating collections

Family members of the late Linda Puckett Carlen gather at the Cookeville History Museum during the opening reception of a new exhibit, “Collecting Cookeville,” on Jan. 16. They are, from left, Whit Carlen, Melinda Carlen Little, Walter Carlen, Chip Carlen, Linda C. Carlen and Ben Carlen. Carlen, whose husband, Walter, was a former Friends of the History Museum president, was an avid collector, and several of her items are part of the exhibit. The reception included the dedication of a bench purchased by her friends. The exhibit continues through Feb. 24, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 40 E. Broad St. Admission is free.
