Dayton Man Arrested For Alleged Identity Theft At Walmart

COOKEVILLE, T.N., — A loss prevention call at Cookeville Walmart leads to the arrest of an alleged identity thief who also had counts of alleged forgery charged to him.

On Feb. 24, Cookeville Police Department responded to a shoplifting call at the Cookeville Walmart. When the officer arrived, he was met by loss prevention and the alleged subject who gave his name to be Marlon Wayne Hancock II.

According to the report, the subject had attempted to conceal several items including airsoft pistols, electronics and clothing. The entire total of all the items came to $811.28. The subject was able to give a driver’s license, but allegedly, the photo did not match. When asked for a social security number, the subject did provide one but according to the report, the number came back to belonging to a female in Knoxville.

With the subject not able to be positively identified he was taken into custody. While in custody, the subject was allegedly identified positively as Bradly Booth, 39, of Dayton, TN. While in custody, Booth signed a citation that signified that he claimed to be Marlon Wayne Hancock II.

According to reports, Booth has been charged with Theft, Forgery and Identity Theft. His total bond has been set at $6,500.
