The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs outlast Jackson County in high-scoring affair, 13-11

The bats were busy at Prescott South on Tuesday. When the dust cleared, the Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs had a 13-11 win over Jackson County in five innings.

There were 19 hits, including four extra base hits in the game.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with four lead changes.

The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs went up for good on a two-run single by Brady Lafever off Agee, scoring Blaine Espinosa and Eli Atkins.

Atkins boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs. He singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs converted a triple play in the third inning.

The PS Varsity Bulldogs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Bulldogs attack began with a single from Cole Parkerson, Parker Stout singled, plating Brooks Burr. More runs came home for the Bulldogs when Stout scored on a groundout by Lafever.

The Bulldogs got two-run boosts in each of the second, third and fourth. In the second, they scored on a two-run double by Stout, bringing home Tyler Hall and Burr.

The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs didn’t give up the lead after the fifth inning. Additional runs came from a two-run double by Atkins and a two-run single by Lafever. Stats and Photos by Tonya Smith.
