TN LumberJacks Win in Knoxville

On March 28th the 9U Tennessee LumberJacks baseball team based out of Cookeville, TN travelled to Knoxville to play in the Stars and Strips baseball tournament. During the pool play on the first day they took on the BATS and won that game with a score of 4-2. They moved into their 2nd game of the day playing Diamond Black. The LumberJacks were down 3-1 in the last inning and with only sixty seconds left to play. They dug in deep and scored two runs to take it to extra innings. They would not settle for nothing less than a win and eventually came out on top winning the game 4-3.

They entered day two as the number two seed and took on the number three seeded team Cherokee. The LumberJacks were looking for revenge from a loss to this team two weeks ago.  They were not wanting to pack up their ball bags and go home early. They played hard and took this game into extra innings also and won 5-4. This put them in the championship game against the number four seed RC Elite who had put out the number one seeded Yard Dogs the game before. The LumberJacks played a superb defensive game one hitting the RC Elite team and claiming the championship with a 5-2 win.

The LumberJacks are scheduled to play this Saturday on home turf at the Cookeville BPA 5th Annual Easter Classic.
