The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs defeat Boyd Christian after late game single, 8-7

The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs outlasted Boyd Christian on Tuesday after seven lead changes, squeaking out a 8-7 win.

The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs scored on an RBI single by Brooks Burr off Jones, plating J.D. Price.

Burr was solid at the plate for the Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs. Burr went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run.

Boyd Christian jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Elkins singled to ignite Boyd Christian’s offense. A passed ball then moved Elkins from first to second. Jones singled, scoring Elkins. The scoreboard lit up again for Boyd Christian when Jones and Smith scored on a two-run double by Scroggs.

The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs scored three runs of their own in the first. The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs scored on an RBI double by Parker Stout, an RBI triple by Jackson Kelly, and an error.

After posting two runs in the second, Boyd Christian again scored two in the fifth. In the second, Boyd Christian scored on a two-run single by Elkins, plating Sells and #33.

The Prescott South Varsity Bulldogs quickly matched Boyd Christian’s strong inning with a three-run inning of their own in the fifth.
