Police: Suspect In Antioch Movie Theater Shooting Dead, Three Others Injured

ANTIOCH, T.N. — Police responded Wednesday to an active shooter at the Carmike Hickory 8 movie theater complex in Antioch, Tennessee.

Police confirm the active shooting suspect has been killed.  Officials say three people were treated on the scene after being exposed to pepper spray.  Police say the suspect sprayed pepper spray throughout one of the theaters showing the movie Mad Max.

One of those three victims also had superficial wounds from a hatchet.  The suspect was originally reported as a 51-year-old man from the Nashville area.  However, officials later identified the shooter as 29-year-old Vincente David Montano.

Montano allegedly has a long record of mental health issues.

Antioch is a suburb of Nashville, about 15 miles southeast of the city.
