PCSO Announces Quarterly Performance Award Recipients

PUTNAM COUNTY, TN – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 3rd Quarter Performance Awards: Deputy Gary Davis (Commissioned) and Deputy Billy Farley (Non-Commissioned).

“I am proud of both of these deputies and would like to congratulate them on the fine job they are doing for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and our community,” said Sheriff Eddie Farris. “Their initiative, perseverance, and dedication to duty are an asset to our Department.”

Deputy Gary Davis was selected for his actions exemplary actions and his continual tendency to go above and beyond the call of duty. On more than one occasion he has stayed after his shift ended in order to complete a call or to assist other deputies when there is a particularly high call volume.  In one instance, he responded to a harassment call at Mustard Seed Ranch. He was in the patrol room when the call came in that the subject had been located. He requested the extra time so that he could close the call himself, which he did in an exemplary manner.

“Deputy Davis always has a good attitude, portrays a professional image, and does whatever is needed of him without complaining,” said Major Jim Eldridge.

Deputy Billy Farley was selected for his high degree of professionalism. He consistently displays a positive attitude and can always be counted on to perform whatever task is necessary without complaint. In a past critical incident, he reacted flawlessly, performing in a manner that paralleled the training he had received.

“Deputy Farley always follows orders and performs his daily tasks with a high degree of professionalism,” said Major Tim Nash.
