Ribbon Cutting Ceremony:

·    There will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Thursday, November 12 @ 11:00 a.m. at East Clay Volunteer Fire Department.  From 11am-1pm, they will be serving lunch, drinks, and providing music for their “official” ribbon cutting/dedication ceremony at the new Fire Department Building located at 5350 Willow Grove Hwy, Allons, TN!

Ground Breaking Ceremony:

·    There will be a Ground Breaking Ceremony Thursday, November 12 @ 4:00 p.m. at the New “Central Park” located in Downtown Livingston. Everyone is welcome to come help us celebrate the beginning of construction for “Livingston’s Newest Park”.

Webinar to Help Start a Business to be offered:

TTU’s Tennessee Small Business Development Center to host webinar to help people understand starting a business

Are you ready to start your business but have no idea what types of financing options are available? Afraid you are going to make the same mistakes other failed businesses have made? If you are thinking of starting your own business, there is a lot you need to know. This free webinar will help get you headed in the right direction.

“Business Start-up Essentials” is the title of the webinar being presented from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17th. Led by Jen Dangelo, Director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, the webinar will address topics of interest to potential entrepreneurs and new business owners.

Those topics include business startup basics, business structures, challenges for startups, business planning, cash needs, financing options, and more.

In addition to seminars on small business topics, the TTU Small Business Development Center offers free, confidential one-on-one counseling with potential and existing small business owners.

Although admission is free, registration is required and can be done by visiting the web site at www.tsbdc.org/ttu or calling the TSBDC office at TTU at (931) 372-3648.

Webinar about Government Contracting to be offered:

TSBDC Cookeville Center to host webinar about Government Contracting on November 19th.

Are you seeking ways to grow your business through federal government contracting? Small Business Certification can be the answer! A free webinar that will be presented this November by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center in Cookeville will provide you with information to determine which certification is right for your business.

“Government Contracting: Small Business Certifications…Are you prepared?” is the title of the webinar being presented from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Thursday November 19th. Led by Kena Dixon of the TN District SBA office and Debbie Barber of PTAC, the seminar will display several of the small business certifications available to businesses, information to determine if your business is positioned to be a prime contractor, and how to conduct market research to determine which federal agencies purchase your goods and/or services.

VFW Coffee with a Veteran:

Livingston’s VFW Post 5062 and American Legion Post 4, are hosting “Have Coffee with a Veteran” Saturday, November 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the VFW Post building located at 103 Henson Street in Livingston. We invite the public and those who have served or who are currently serving in our armed forces to come and have coffee, conversation, and enjoy the comradeship of our veterans.
