Putnam County Deputy Arrests Wanted Fugitive

COOKEVILLE, T.N. — A Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a wanted fugitive from New Mexico in a motel parking lot.

The deputy was patrolling at Fall Creek Inn when he noticed two people acting suspicious in a truck, according to a police report.  The occupants are accused of ducking down inside the truck when they saw the deputy.

The deputy pulled in behind the truck and conducted a license check.  The driver, a woman, did not have any warrants and was driving on a valid driver’s license.

The passenger, Daniel Dacy Jr., did not have a license but gave the deputy his name, date of birth and social security number.

Deputies say Dacy had a warrant out of New Mexico for felony child abuse charges.  Dacy was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Putnam County Jail until he is extradited to New Mexico.
