JR CAVS FAIR WELL IN THE RAIN!

Despite an early down poor at the start of the boys varsity race, the middle school JR CAVS cross country teams were able to fair well in their first meet of the season against some of the best teams in middle Tennessee.
Topping off the results for the day, was eighth grader, Landri Wilcox, coming away as the overall race winner in the girls varsity 2-mile race in a time of 12:38.
Completing the five scoring spots for the girls 4th place finish were Maddie Long (15:04), Annie Kate McDermott (15:07), Emily Coonce (15:10), and Elizabeth McReynolds (16:07).
While the boys race began in a heavy rain, it didn’t stop the JR CAVS from racing to a 5th place finish in a field of 20 teams.
Leading the way for the boys was Keith Wiley (13:06), followed by Jacob Sparks (13:14), Davidson Reese (13:16), Drake Thacker (14:01), and rounding out the top five to score was Judson Reese (14:02).
The JR CAVS return to action on Saturday, September 3rd, when they return to Macon County for the Donna Tucker Memorial.
