COOKEVILLE, T.N. — Cookeville Police say they have charged a man with aggravated rape.
Officers were called to investigate a domestic violence complaint involving a 48-year-old victim and Johnny Lee West, Jr. in May of 2017.
During the investigation, West was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. After investigating rape allegations related to the same domestic violence complaint, a Grand Jury issued an indictment for West charging him with aggravated rape.
West was arrested on November 11th on the rape charge and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
