BAXTER, T.N., — A car accident involving one vehicle in Baxter leaves the driver dead.
According to the report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Deborah Spriggs, 58, was driving on Highway 96 in Baxter when the accident occured. Allegedly, Spriggs’ car went off the right side of the highway where she over corrected and crossed into the left lane before exiting the highway once more. On the left side, the car hit a boulder and stopped partially back in the roadway.
Unfortunately, Spriggs was not wearing her seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the report, officials say that the seat belt would have made the difference in the end result.
