Daniel 1 Academy Boys High School basketball team traveled to Dayton, TN to compete in the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) tournament. The NACA annual tournament is scheduled for two weeks with six divisions of boys and girls high school basketball teams. Teams from multiple states compete in this tournament. This is the first time D1A Boys High School basketball team has competed in the NACA tournament. D1A competed in Division 6 with a total of 22 teams in Division 6. D1A finished the tournament with a 3-2 record.
The first game was on Wednesday, February 28 against Lancaster Christian Academy (B team) from Smyrna, TN. D1A defeat Lancaster B by a score of 60-17. Scoring by quarters:

Due to the lopsided score, D1A played the bench exclusively in the second and fourth quarters. Scoring for D1A: Blake Smith 12, Carson Vaughn 11 (4 ast), Josiah Watson 10, Garret Woodside 10, Madden Smith 7, Luke Welte 5 (8 reb), Joey Smith 2, Eli Vaughn 2, Colby Hobbs 1.
D1A then advanced to the second round matchup on Wednesday night as the featured game at the main tournament site at Fort Bluff Camp. D1A lost in overtime to Covenant Christian Academy from Huntsville, AL. The final score was D1A 52 CCA 55. D1A lead at the end of three quarters by a score of 42-19. CCA was able to send the game into overtime tied 50-50 with incredible 3-point shooting by one player who finished the game with 49 points. D1A had its chances to win in regulation and to tie it in overtime but all of the shots came up short. Scoring by quarters:

Scoring for D1A: Carson Vaughn 20 (9 reb), Garret Woodside 16, Josiah Watson 9 (5 steals), Blake Smith 4 (10 reb), Luke Welte 3 (5 ast). With this loss, D1A went to the main consolation bracket.
On Thursday, March 1, D1A played one game against Family Christian Academy from Orlando, FL. D1A lost to Family Christian by a score of 37-62. Scoring by quarters:

On Friday, March 2, D1A played in two games to finish the tournament. The first game was against Chattanooga Southeast Tennessee Home Education Association (CSTHEA) based in Chattanooga, TN. D1A won by a score of 60-44. Scoring by quarters:

With this win, D1A advanced to the final game of the secondary consolation bracket which was played at the Summers Gymnasium at Bryan College in Dayton on Friday, March 2. D1A faced Ridgeview Christian School from Stuarts Draft, WV. D1A defeated RCS by a score of 58-31. Scoring by quarters:

With this win, D1A finished the 2017-18 season with a overall record of 22-11.
