Cookeville Police K9 Kaine Passes Away

Cookeville, TN – On April 30, 2018, Cookeville Police Department’s K9 Kaine passed away due to
an unforeseen medical condition. Kaine was assigned to Officer Ryder Cook. Lieutenant James Harris, Cookeville’s K9 Coordinator, said “Officer Cook and Kaine had been one of the strongest K9 teams that I have ever had the pleasure to train and work beside”.

Kaine joined Cookeville’s K9 Team in January of 2015. He was assigned to Officer Cook in
October of 2016. K9 Kaine was certified multiple times as a dual purpose canine by the North AmericanPolice Work Dog Association and had many deployments during his service with the department. Kaine was very focused in his work as a police dog and consistently served the City of Cookeville, along with other mutual aid calls. We will greatly miss our K9 partner who stood by Rydr’s side and who unselfishly served his community.
