Woman Evades Arrest By Fleeing Into A Home With Two Juveniles Present

MONTEREY, T.N., — A Cookeville woman was found in possession of a stolen vehicle in Monterey and attempted to flee on foot into a home that wasn’t her own.

 

On Saturday, June 16, Shannon Mansell, 29, was allegedly walking on Woodland Avenue in Monterey when she came upon a running vehicle. According to the reports, Mansell took the Toyota Prius and drove away.

 

According to the warrant, Monterey Police attempted to stop Mansell and when she pulled over she jumped out of the vehicle and began to flee on foot. Police pursued and followed Mansell to a residence on New Avenue when the defendant entered the home and locked the door. Allegedly, two juveniles were in the residence at the time. Police forced the door open and pursued Mansell further.

 

Mansell was taken into custody on the charges of Evading Arrest, Aggravated Burglary and Theft of Property. The total cost of the Prius was listed at $15,000. Mansell’s total bond is $42,500.
