Lineman Injured While Working on Power Lines

Earlier today a lineman with the City of Cookeville’s Electric Department was injured when an
arc flash occurred while he was performing maintenance work on a utility pole. The pole was
near the intersection of Jackson Street and Walnut Avenue. The employee, William Dunson,
was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center via LifeFlight for treatment of his injuries.
Fortunately Mr. Dunson’s injuries, although serious, were not as extensive as originally feared;
he is expected to be released from the hospital today.
The City of Cookeville is appreciative of the citizens who’ve expressed concern for Mr. Dunson’s
well-being. The relationship between its citizens and the City is one of the reasons Cookeville is such a great place to live.
