PUTNAM COUNTY, TN – August 29, 2018, Eddie Maddle, 47, of Sparta, Tennessee was convicted on One Count of Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to Manufacture, Deliver or Sell following a two-day jury trial in Putnam County Criminal Court. Sergeant Chuck Johnson initiated the investigation in 2015 that developed into a search warrant being issued for Maddle’s residence. Drugs and chemicals associated with the manufacture of Meth were found at the residence. Investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Drug Investigation Division and other criminal investigators within this office both assisted with this particular investigation.

Maddle has a history of drug related arrests and reckless behavior. He has previously been arrested for general sessions capias fail to appear or pay; possession of schedule 1 drug; possession of a schedule IV drug; manufacture, delivery and sale of a controlled substance; meth precursor; tampering with evidence; violation of the Meth Free Tennessee Drug Act; intent to manufacture methamphetamine; assault; vandalism; driving on a revoked or suspended license; failure to maintain school attendance; unlawful possession of a weapon; criminal trespassing; and DUI.
“Drugs are a scourge to any community. This is exactly the type of illegal behavior that will not be tolerated in this county. If you participate in or conduct illegal drug trafficking activity, we will find you and arrest you,” continued the Sheriff. “Prostitution, robbery, burglary, home invasion, carjacking, and homicides are often connected to illegal narcotics. The manufacture, sale, and distribution of illegal drugs will be prosecuted to the fullest extent in Putnam County.”
Maddle’s wife, Bobbie Sue Maddle, pled guilty to seven counts of Selling Methamphetamine in 2017 in regards to the same investigation. She received two 15-year sentences and five, 9-year sentences to be served concurrent.
