Cavaliers faced many challenges yesterday at the region championship golf tournament. First, it was the uncertain weather conditions. Second, it was the golf course and finally the big charge from the other teams! Veteran coach Larry Pitts coached up his dependable five and they met the challenge by winning the region championship and earning a spot at next week’s state championship.
Leading the charge for the Cavs was Will Dycus carding a 78. Followed by Luke Caldwell 79, Jared Funderburk 81 and Bryce Turnbow 82 for a winning total score of 320.
In the girls action the Lady Cavs fell a little short and did not qualify for the state tournament. Leading the Lady Cavs was Ashlynn Faijt 96, followed by Hope Homar 101 and Savannah Pearson 104 to total 197.
