ATMS School Announcement 10/29/18

Dear Avery Trace Families, the following is a daily email with our school announcements and other information that is relative to what is happening at “The Trace.”   The daily email is an effort to help communicate more effectively with our families so that accurate information is at your fingertips.   If you need any further information about what is listed, please contact the person in parenthesis next to the announcement.   All contact information can be found at our website: www.averytraceraiders.com.  Our daily newsletter, “The Happenings” will still be sent home each Friday. We appreciate our Avery Trace Families!

 

HALLOWEEN 2018: Just a friendly reminder that next Wednesday, Oct. 31 is a regular school day. Wearing costumes to school will not be permitted.

Raider Readers: Tara Ward –  Raider Readers will have have their first meeting Thursday,  November 1st.  Come by Ms. Tara Wards room to get a permission slip.

Raider Times: Tara Ward –  the next meeting will be on tonight, 10/29 until 4:00.  Make sure your ride is here on time.

 

Student Council Members: Mrs. Hawkins –  Do not forget that t-shirt orders are due to Mrs. Hawkins by Thursday, Nov. 1st.

 

Veterans Day Program: The students, faculty, and staff of Avery Trace Middle School would\like to invite parents, relatives, friends, and community members who have served in the Armed Forces to attend our Veterans Day program. Uniforms are welcome if you choose to wear them. The program will be on Monday, November 12 in the Avery Trace Middle School  Auditorium from 8:30-9:45. We will have refreshments for our honored guests in the library starting at 8:00 am. Please arrive in the library between 8:00-8:25. Please return the invitation  to your student’s Social Studies teacher by Wednesday, November 7 or email Lfarley1@pcsstn.com to RSVP digitally.  An RSVP is not required to attend, but it will help for planning  purposes. Please join us even if you do not RSVP

 

ATMS INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC ENSEMBLE CONCERTS

5th and 6th grade – November 13 @ 6:00pm

7th and 8th grade – November 15 @ 6:00pm

Both concerts will be in the ATMS Auditorium.

* Band and orchestra students will need to wear Concert Black (black shirt, pants, socks, shoes, dress, leggings, etc). All attire needs to follow ATMS dress code.

ATMS Instrumental music has started their annual fruit fundraiser.  Make checks payable to ATMS Band and all forms and money are due November 13. Questions? email Mr. Hibbard   tony.hibbard@pcsstn.com

 

Open Books/Open Doors: Avery Trace is partnering with the Putnam County Library in the pilot program, Open Books/Open Doors to help increase interest in literacy in the middle grades. Seventh graders will participate in sessions throughout the year on comic arts, storytelling, and keeping a digital history, all while learning about the resources the library has available to them. Students will be able to receive a library card (an application will be sent home) at the end of the program. *STUDENT MEDICAL INFORMATION:   Please see attached information regarding our Putnam County On-Site Medical Clinic for Students.  There are several pages to print off to fill out and send back to school.  Also attached is information regarding TennCare or Cover Kids regarding free health insurance.

ADHD Parent to Parent Support Group: Jaida Campbell    We will meet in Jaida Campbell’s room on the 3rd Monday of each month.  We will have flyers in the offices.  If you want to email the flyer to your parents that would be great!  We will send the flyer to the other schools as well.  We are sponsoring it but anyone from any school is invited.  So you can let your friends and acquaintances know about it as well.  See attached flyer:
