Apply Now for Vol State Upper Cumberland Spring Classes

Spring semester at Volunteer State Community College is another opportunity for adult students to attend classes tuition-free with TN Reconnect. TN Reconnect is a statewide program that began this fall. Hundreds of TN Reconnect students are taking classes at Vol State this semester. The primary requirement is that people can’t already have a college degree. They can have college credits and those credits could apply to a Vol State degree. Upper Cumberland students can attend classes at the Cookeville Higher Education Campus (CHEC), the Vol State Livingston campus, and online. Students can even take courses from all three possibilities, for even more flexibility.

Megen Roberts is a mother of two who is using TN Reconnect this semester. “An advantage of taking classes online is the ability to still be fully engaged with your children, while attending classes from anywhere.” Roberts said she knows how tough it can be for parents to add extra responsibilities, such as college, but encourages others to follow her. “I would recommend jumping in with both feet because the reward of having a career, instead of just having a job, is well worth it.”

People who want to attend for the spring semester should apply now. For more information about TN Reconnect, including eligibility for adults, and links to apply to the college, visit www.volstate.edu/reconnect

Students don’t need to use TN Reconnect to attend Vol State. There are other financial aid options available for younger students and those who already have college degrees.

The spring semester at Vol State starts on January 14. Course registration is open now for all students. New and readmit students will need to apply first. The application process can be completed online at www.volstate.edu/apply. Students can visit the Vol State offices in Cookeville and Livingston if they have any questions along the way. The Cookeville Higher Education Campus is located at 1000 Neal Street. The Vol State office can be reached at 931-372-5540. The Livingston campus is located at 113 Windle Community Road. That location can be reached at (931) 823-7065.
