Learn to Cure Bacon!
Here at Cordell Hull Birthplace State Historic Park we love bacon and feature it in many of the traditional meals we’ve been making over the hearth. On December 8th at 11am, we’ll host a class teaching the fine art of curing bacon using traditional methods. For $5 you can attend the workshop as an observer, and for $20 you’ll be able to participate and take a full pound of bacon home (a great holiday gift idea!).
The class will be taught by Tennessee State Parks Regional Interpreter Steve Smith. Steve is an expert in a number of traditional skills and we’re excited that he’s been able to fit us into his busy schedule.
