BAXTER, T.N. — The Bees had their game faces on all game showing the determination, drive, team work and toughness they displayed all season. This spirit got them to a 13 – 0 season and the opportunity to play the number 1 ranked team in all divisions this year, the undefeated Tornadoes from Alcoa.
From the start the Bees showed they could play with AHS toe to toe and the Tornados knew they were in a dog fight; a game they would have to play all four quarters to survive.
In the end, the Bees fell 27-14 after a gallant effort to end their season. UHS players and coaches, with character and professionalism, should hold your heads high and be proud of your accomplishments. Bee Nation, you represented yourselves, your school and your community greatly.
Statistics wise the M & M Duo once again provided all the ground power, grinding out 186 total yards. Blake Metzgar racked up 96 yards on 16 carries scoring both the UHS touchdowns. Donovan McCallister carried the ball 21 times for 90 yards. Thru the air Donovan completed 10 – 18 passes with one interception. James Penland hauled in three passes for 46 yards with Cole Bush and Sidney Brewington with three passes.
Defense played another swarming scheme to keep Alcoa’s offense off balance. Leading the defense in tackles/assists with five each were McCallister, Brewington, Calen Nash and Zach Stewart.
