The Bees set the tune of the game on the opening kickoff as they hammered Loudon back to the ground. This hard hitting affair was never in doubt as a balanced air and ground attach kept Loudon’s defense off balance all night and after making some half time adjustments the Bees defense swarmed the Redskins in the second half.
Offensively the M & M Duo continued their domination of opposing defenses by grinding out 202 of the 214 rushing yards. The Bees’ Metzgar pounded out 105 yards on 14 carries and McCallister 97 yards on 14 carries. McCallister was also a sharp shooter passing. Connecting on 10 0f 12 passes, Cole Bush was the main target hauling in 5 passes for 128 yards making 2 spectacular catches and scoring 2 TD’s. Duke Maresh gathered in 3 passes for 42 yards and Jake Penland came up with 2 receptions as well.
Defensively the Bees bent a little in the first half giving up 14 points but settled down and did some swarming in the second half. Duke Maresh led the swarm with 10 tackle/assists, Sidney Brewington and Caden Nash picked up 9 tackle/assists each.
Next up for the Bees will be a Region rematch with the Dragons from York. UHS beat York 35 – 14 in the regular season. York defeated Signal Mountain 35-21.
