Police: Man Fires Shotgun At Couple Walking Dogs

COOKEVILLE, TN — A Cookeville man was arrested Thursday after police say he aimed and fired a shotgun at a couple walking their dogs.

The couple told the responding deputy that the man fired the shotgun into the ground while they were walking their four dogs.

The man was identified as Charles Gillespie, 68, of Cookeville. According to the warrant, when the Deputy approached Gillespie about the shooting, Gillespie denied the allegations.

Gillespie was charged with Aggravated Assault after deputies say they interviewed several neighbors who witnessed the incident.  Total bond has been set at $10,000.
