For this year’s talent show, the talent show committee is having a Song Writing Contest. The winning student will automatically have their song performed in the PSMS Talent Show in May! Students interested should see Ms. Francis for details.

Parents of rising 9th graders…
For any student interested in CHS Boys Basketball, there will be an informational Booster Club Meeting for parents on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:00 in the lecture hall on the first floor of CHS. Additionally, please go ahead and mark April 12-14 on your calendar.

Parents and Teachers,
The Art Department at Prescott have announced our Third Annual Art Contest. Any student may enter the contest. Students do not have to be in an art class to submit artwork. Students may pick up the registration form in the office to see the rules and guidelines for the contest. Here is the information just in case you or your students have any questions.

The Art department at Prescott South Middle School is sponsoring an Art Contest
Starting Wednesday, Jan. 23, through, Friday, March 22, 2018
Turn in artwork starting March 1st. No entries accepted after March 22, 2019.
Awards:
5 th Grade – One winner 6 th Grade– One winner
7 th Grade — One winner 8 th Grade —- One winner
One Best of Show, two overall runners up
Overall winner (Best of Show) will have his/her name placed on a Trophy
and placed in the glass display cabinet in the main hallway
Prizes to be announced!
Guidelines for the Art Contest
Artwork can be any size.
(No notebook paper)
Imagery must be School Appropriate
2-Dimentional (paintings, drawings, etc.)
3-Dimentional Sculpture
Other Craft artwork acceptable
(No color sheets)
No copy-write characters will be accepted. (Pokemon, etc.)
Must be original Artwork that you have done on your own time.
(Not in art class)
No more than 1 entry per student.
Your artwork should be in good condition. No torn, wrinkled, dirty, or folded artwork please!!
Fill out form below and attach to the back of your submitted artwork.

CANstruction Announcement
7th and 8th Grade students – We need bright young minds who want to help a great cause.
Mr. Cross will be leading the CANstruction Team here at Prescott Middle School.
The CANstruction team will be creating a large sculpture from Canned food, that will be displayed in the front of the school. All the canned food will eventually be donated to a local Food Bank.
Sign up in Mr. Cross’s room (in the 8th grade hallway) to join this creative team!
Spots are limited, so sign up soon!
Attention Visitors to PSMS: In order to better protect our students, visitors and staff, all visitors who wish to go down the hallways of the school during school hours will be required to show a valid, government-issued ID. Your ID will be scanned and a visitor pass with your picture, name, date and area you will be visiting will be printed. You will still need to sign in and sign out on the visitor sheet.
*****BEFORE YOUR CHILD TRIES OUT FOR A SPORT HE/SHE MUST HAVE A CURRENT PHYSICAL ON FILE IN THE OFFICE AND PHYSICAL MUST BE CURRENT DURING THE ENTIRE SEASON OF THAT SPORT.
