UHS Logistics Students Honored

Upperman High School Logistics students have accomplished another first for Middle Tennessee.  UHS in partnership with TCAT Livingston began the first Logistics classes offered in the Upper Cumberland last year.  TCAT provides Mr. Paul Perry as the classroom instructor at UHS.  This year’s enrollment grew and the second year students became eligible to test for certification as Certified Logistics Technicians.  The exam for the certification had a 75% pass rate.  The students who received the certification became the second group to take the exam in the State of Tennessee.  The program also had 18 students who were presented with the Certified Logistics Associate certifications for first-year students.  The program had an overall 82% passing rate on the exams.

TCAT Livingston Director Dr. Myra West recognized the students in a ceremony in the UHS Media Center.  She recognized four students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.  Those students were Luke Sapp, Reece Anderson, Hayden Swift, and Matthew DeLorto.  These young men became the first students from the UHS program to receive this honor.
Principal Billy Stepp, Assitant Princiapls Rhonda Mahan and Greg Wilson, as well as Career Technical Education Director Jeff Slagle were in attendance representting UHS and Putnam County Schools.
