SPARTA, TN — An accident that occurred on Smithville Highway in Sparta has left one dead and four injured.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s report, Gina Stewart, 34, of Sparta, was traveling East on Smithville Highway in her 2009 Chevy HHR. Stewart had four minor children in her vehicle at the time, according to the report.
Timothy Davidson, 24, of Crossville was traveling west in his 2014 Honda when he allegedly crossed the centerline and struck Stewart’s vehicle, according to officials.
Craig Hale, 51, of Smithville, was traveling behind Stewart’s vehicle when the accident occurred and his 2007 Toyota Tacoma hit the front of Stewart’s vehicle, according to the report.
Stewart was pronounced dead on the scene by authorities. Four juveniles and Hale were injured in the accident.
Officials are awaiting toxicology results to see if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal crash.
