Helen Priester Wins “What Home Means To Me” Contest

Helen Priester of Cookeville was recently announced a winner of the Southeastern Region of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment’s 2019 “What Home Means to Me” poster contest. Her poster depicting scenes of her childhood along with things she loves about Cookeville has now advanced to the national contest in Washington, DC. Helen entered the local Highlands Residential Services poster contest where she won in the grades 9 – 12 category, then advanced to and won at the state level.

Helen’s interest in art began at early age. In 2009, she was one of 12 national winners in the K – 4 poster contest. She is a recent graduate of Cookeville High School and begins general studies at CHEC campus this fall with plans to complete her education at the Nossi College of Arts in Nashville. The Highlands Residential Services poster contest has been supported by the Cookeville Arts Council since 2011.
