Chantel Gomez, 19, of Baxter died in a crash on Burgess Falls Road in Putnam County on Monday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Gomez was driving her 2004 Volkswagen Beetle south when she crossed the center line of the road. She then collided with a tractor-trailer driven by Lyle Taylor, 53, of Sparta.
Gomez suffered fatal injuries during the collision, according to officials. Gomez was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according the report.
